Chile's Centro De Justicia Turns to Pacom Systems to protect 140,000 square meter Santiago Judicial Complex

Pacom Systems and its Latin American System Integration partner Bitelco, Limited, recently installed a new access control, intrusion alarm, and IP CCTV video control system in Chile's Centro De Justicia, located in Santiago. The Justice Center is the country's largest centralized court and criminal detention facility. It houses all of Chile's senior civil, criminal and international judges, as well as adjoins the city's largest detention center for easier prisoner transport and security. 
In Chile, defendants and their attorneys present their cases before a three-judge panel since there are no jury trials in Chile. Previously, all court actions were handled in writing with no personal contact with the judge. This usually took years to hear and resolve cases. The new system of justice is much more efficient for the country and its citizens. Chile's new 140,000 square meter justice center is state-of-the-art in every way, and it was important that it also have a modern access control system, along with an integrated intrusion alarm and video surveillance solution to protect the court's officials and to secure the entire facility. Pacom and Bitelco installed an access control system to manage more than 200 doors and all of the elevators in the justice center facility. The Pacom solution comprises multiple 1058 control panels and several hundred 1064 Card Reader Interfaces. All hardware is centrally managed by Pacom's Windows-based Graphical Management System (GMS). "Providing a secure work environment for the Justice Center was a priority for Chile's Minister of Justice and all of the senior judges who hear cases in the facility," said Dario Diaz Commercial Manager for Bitelco in Chile.
